Attending our Weekly Adoration Hour

Hi!

This past summer, an Adoration chapel opened in our community. It’s across the street from the church we go to, and it’s about seven minutes away from our house! It has been such a gift to me, and to our community. My mom and siblings and I have a weekly hour on Thursdays from 4pm-5pm. Before the chapel we usually went to Adoration once a week, at a couple different places, but now we have a full hour at the same time every week, which is nice.

What is something you enjoy about spending time in adoration? I know this isn’t always something you get, nor is it something to use to judge whether you had a fruitful time in Adoration, but I really love receiving consolation and good insights from Jesus in Adoration.

What is something you find challenging about adoration, if anything? I don’t always desire to go, or to be there. In a way I do, I also don’t. This goes for our weekly hour, but also just in general.

What’s something new you could try next time you’re in adoration to grow closer to God? I think I’ve done this before, not very much, but I want to kneel on the front kneelers that are really close to the monstrance, and practice the idea of looking and Him, and letting Him look at me. I don’t think I kneel at those kneelers enough in general either.

I invite you to go to Adoration! Jesus is truly there.

Thanks for reading!

Lucy
