Description
This unique, colorful, handmade hat is made with soft yarn and has a large pom pom on top! The yarn is thick and warm! The colors are meant to represent St. Joan of Arc, an amazing young martyr.
It can be worn slouchy or you can fold over the brim and wear it like a regular hat.
St. Joan of Arc lived in France in the 1400’s, in the midst of the Hundred Year’s War between France and England. When she was around 13, she started receiving messages from God. They eventually led her to help lead the French army, including through their significant victory at Orléans, and to help Charles the VII be crowned king of France. Eventually, she was captured and put on trial for several months, accused of heresy and more. It ultimately led to the Church putting her to death at age 19, burning her at the stake. This same Church canonized her as a Catholic saint almost 500 years later. Her feast day is May 30th.
She is an amazing example of bravery, fortitude and obedience, following God’s will no matter where it leads.
